In this method we will utilize the power of social media to generate free traffic to an affiliate offer.
Facebook and hubpages are the two sites we will be using to make affiliate commission. First of all go to any affiliate network other than Clickbank and pick a really good product. CPA offers are mostly low value and are not going to work with this method. I prefer info products because there are really high value ones. In this example I’ll take a baby sign language product, find one on Amazon.com.
Go to hubpages.com and build a hub about the product. Vendors/authors are usually OK with you using their images to promote their products, but just to be safe ask first. Make the first image in the introduction module an appealing one (don’t use a box or book cover image for this matter).
The second step is build a fan page about the same subject. In our example that will be baby sign language. Start posting about the subject. Include some news, videos, and some stories and make your most recent post a Facebook-like to your hub (visit your hub and you’ll find the Facebook-logo button, click it and write something in the post then click “post”).
Now while on Facebook click down arrow next to the “home” tap at the top right, and from the menu choose to use Facebook as your new fanpage.
Time to get some traffic. Go to the search box of Facebook and search the most obvious term related to your product, in our example it will be “baby”. Go to those fanpages one by one and browse their most recent posts, like the ones you really like and leave a genuine comment. Now that you are using Facebook as ur fanpage, the comments that you leave will be from your “baby sign language” fanpage. Some will go to your fanpage to see who left this comment (if they like it) and some of them will probably like your page. And this is the beginning of the social marketing “virus”. Your page will show on their profile and might also grab the attention of their friends.
It is extremely important that you do two things right from the beginning:
1. When you build your fanpage do your research and only post things that provide a really high value to your fans.
2. When you leave a comment on someone else’s fanpage leave a high value comment. Never ever ask for likes or visits.
To start seeing results you need a couple hundred fans, and to get there you need to post on you fanpage daily, visit related fanpages and leave genuine high value comments for at least 2 hours every day. The more work you put in this method the faster you’ll reach your goal.
Now please note that you can not link to an Amazon product straight from your fan page (it would have been easier and more converting than having a hubpage in the middle). The reason is that at Amazon associate program they don’t like and could close your account.
I have a technique that I am using to direct-link on Facebook to clickbank (which is my favourite affiliate network), but it costs me $500 (one time). It’s worth it because my conversion rate increases dramatically over using a landing page of any kind and they pay up to 75% commission as opposed to Amazon’s 4-8%, but it won’t be free then .. now would it?
