Affiliate Marketing 102: Affiliate Blog Content 1

After you build your blog you need to do two things:

1. Add content to your blog, and

2. Get your blog added to Google index.

So first we need to add some content to your blog. You only need one post to get your blog indexed easily, so let’s focus on that.

To avoid looking spammy you need to avoid linking to any affiliate offers you are promoting. Just provide free information about the subject that your offer is related to. For example, if you are promoting a dating offer write a few posts about dating and publish them on your blog.

Sounds easy? I hope so.

It’s better if you can write about 5 articles, each article should be answering one question that your readers might have in mind. To know what people need to know precisely go to Google external keyword tool and search for keywords or phrases that have been searched by people interested in your offer. To continue with the same example above search Google external keyword tool for dating, and to be more specific let’s consider that your offer is about single parents dating. You can start by an article about dating tips for single moms, another one for single dads, then a couple more dating advice articles for both, and maybe another one about building rapport between your kids and your date.

These are useful topics and are easy to rank for so that you start getting traffic from search engines. Now it’s time to get your blog indexed. There are two things to do so that you get indexed quickly.

1. Submit your RSS feed url to feed directories, and

2. Get a link from another website.

The RSS feed submission can be done by many services, one of them is feed shark. It submits feed and pings your blog to all available directories. You only need to provide two urls: your blog url and your RSS feed url. You get the RSS feed url by clicking on the orange icon that you see right now in the url field of your browser if you are using firefox.

To get backlinks to your blog simply leave a comment with your blog url in the “website” field on the top 10 blogs when you search Google for your keyword. Some blogs have the links set as “no follow” links. Those are not going to help in indexing. To avoid those you need to install a plug in for Firefox and Global Mojo called “do no follow”. The no follow links will show in purple color on your browser.

You can also write an article about your blog subject and link to your blog in the first paragraph. Publish this article on other blogs that allow you to write for them, like 3stepads.com.

If you do all of the above your blog could be indexed in a few hours. If not, be patient and continue adding content to your blog.

Please keep in mind that this free method for affiliate marketing is going to involve a lot of writing. So, if you don’t like writing you’d better get used to it :-). Just kidding. The kind of writing that I meanĀ  here is like writing an email to someone about your topic. If you can write an email then you’re all set and ready to take off.

Please leave a comment with your questions or suggestions. This is how I decide what topic to write about next.
